Dear,
You can start planning now for the 24th Association of European Economics Education conference next year. It will take place Thursday, October 12 – Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the lovely city of Leeuwarden, the capital of the Netherlands province of Friesland.

As always, the conference will provide an opportunity for researchers, teachers and other professionals involved in economics education to meet with and hear from their counterparts from all over Europe. For next year’s conference title, we’ve chosen “Preparing for the Future: Teaching economics for a sustainable world.” We look forward to interesting presentations on this timely topic. Beyond the focus on sustainability, the conference will feature five additional themes: entrepreneurship and business economics, financial education and literacy, alternative teaching approaches, teacher training – for the first time – and a miscellaneous category. We welcome contributions in all of these areas.
You have plenty of time to prepare. Registration and submission of presentation proposals open on January 15, 2023 and close the following September 11 (submissions) and September 18 (registration). Leeuwarden, its historic city center surrounded by canals, was a European Capital of Culture in 2018. Its Kleine Kerkstraat was named “The Loveliest Shopping Street in the Netherlands” in 2010 and 2012. Our host university, NHL Stenden, is a short walk or bike ride along a canal from the center. The university’s open architecture supports its learning approach, Design-Based Education, with its emphasis on practical problem-solving in a collaborative environment.

Further information about the conference is available on the renewed AEEE website, www.economicseducation.eu.
