Do not forget:  The 2025 Association of European Economics Education conference is coming up quicker than in recent years.  It will be in Milan at the end of August: specifically, Thursday 28.8 – Saturday 30.8.

That means proposals for presentations need to be in by June 15 to guarantee consideration.

See our website, AEEE Association for European Economic Education - Call for Proposals , for information.
We invite submissions in all areas, but particularly in our two new themes, "Artificial Intelligence" and "Gender Diversity."

The deadline for our contest is also June 15.  We encourage you to submit an entry if you are involved in research with an explicitly international character or any project with active collaboration between teachers, teacher trainers or administrators from different countries.  Projects involving collaboration between a researcher and a teacher, teacher trainer or administrator in the same country will also be eligible.  See our website (AEEE Association for European Economic Education) and choose "CONTEST".

For accommodation suggestions, choose the "City of Milano" tab on the website and then "Staying in Milano".

If you have some free time, we highly recommend you stick around for a day trip to the lakes or to Bergamo, for example.  You can find information by clicking on the menu icon on the "What to do in Milano" page.

You can start planning now:  After a quarter century away, the Association of European Economics Education returns to Milan next year for its 25th biannual conference, Thursday, August 28 - Saturday, August 30, 2025.

As always, the conference will provide opportunities for researchers, teachers and other professionals involved in economics education to meet with and hear from their counterparts from all over Europe (as well as some from overseas).

Last year’s conference, you may recall, had the title “Preparing for the Future.”  For many of us, it seems to have arrived even sooner than expected.  The 2025 conference will be titled “The Future is Now.”  Two new themes, “Artificial Intelligence” and “Gender Diversity,” will supplement the six from past conferences:  sustainability, entrepreneurship and business economics, financial education and literacy, alternative teaching approaches, teacher training and a miscellaneous category.  We welcome lectures, interactive presentations and workshops in all of these areas.

We will begin accepting presentation proposals, as well as registration, on November 1, 2024.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the organization that became the AEEE.  It was founded as a forum for economics educators from the member countries of the European Economic Community to come together to share their knowledge and ideas.  That remains (with obvious updating) the primary purpose of AEEE today.

We encourage you to join the celebration by entering our competition.  To be eligible, you will present a project that involves either research with an explicitly international character or active collaboration between teachers, teacher trainers or administrators from different countries.  You can find information about the prize, deadline and so forth on our website, https://www.economicseducation.eu.

Speaking of conferences, thanks again to everyone who participated in Leeuwarden and helped make it such a success.  If you gave a presentation, we think – and expect you agree – that your contribution merits wider dissemination.  That is why we will launch the online journal, Economia, this year.  (Or re-launch, to be precise - an earlier generation of Economia was published on paper in the 1990s.)  We welcome articles based on the presentations or, in fact, any contributions related to economics education.  We will soon send out information about how to submit your article.

And do not forget, you can check out PowerPoints and other materials from the sessions you attended (or did not attend) in October 2023 through your Personal Account on the AEEE website.

  • research with an explicitly international character, such as a comparison of curricula;
  • active collaboration between teachers, teacher trainers or administrators in different countries;
  • active collaboration between a researcher and a teacher, teacher trainer or administrator.

  • The winner will receive a waiver of the conference fee plus € 250 toward his or her accommodation cost. In case of a collaborative entry, the winning team will receive two fee waivers plus € 500 toward accommodation.

If, however, you already have one underway or are able to quickly launch one, you should certainly submit an entry.
